Proverbs 19:21-23 says, "Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. What is desired in a man is steadfast love, and a poor man is better than a liar. The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm."
What's the big idea with these two verses?
The Big Idea is, God has a plan for your life. If you and I devise many life-plans, without God, they are sure to fail. How do we know? What's great about Proverbs, is it's teaches us wisdom. It's authoritative and explains to us how to listen and learn from God's wisdom and not lean on our judgement. It challenges us to reflect, correct, and walk in the strength and might of His name. Jesus did not come to condemn the world, but God sent Jesus to save it.
He's the umbrela in the rain. He's the bill that's been paid.
Rest in the salvation, that is only found in Jesus Christ. He is your strength to stand when you're faced with throwing in the towel.
Look to Christ, experience His purpose for your life. It won't be easy, but the journey is worth it!
