BGR Home Care Kit Project

Dates: 

• Collection of Buckets (in-house) June & July 2010
• Collection dates & times (general public): August 16th starting at 1:00 pm through August 19th at noon
• The BGR transporter will collect all buckets between 1:00 - 4:00 pm and transport to Richmond, VA.

Team Size: Unlimited

Description:  Collection and sponsorship of palliative care kits for HIV/Aids victims in Africa.

Who:  BVBC families, in partnership with the Kansas City Kansas Baptist Association, Kansas Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists, and Baptist Global Response.  BVBC will be a collection site for this region of our state.

Costs: Sponsorship is $90 per bucket. Our goal is to have 250 buckets collected and ready to ship.

Kenya ACI-Helix Team

Team Size: 2 (closed)
Description: Work with ACTS leadership to establish project locations and finalize plans for the June 2001 student mission trip, evaluate two requests for ACI-Helix Model Village Projects in Kenya and one in Tanzania, develop sustainable partnerships with other faith-based organizations and business leaders, and provide training to the Brackenhurst Conference Center staff as requested.
Who: ACI-Helix Team
Cost: $2,800 per person. 

International Commission Jamaica Trip

Dates: November 5 – 14, 2010

Team Size: Open

Description: Evangelism teams used as a direct part of IMB strategy and IC partnership.

Who: Adults.  Must apply with International Commission at their web site: www.IC-World.org

Cost: From Kansas City the costs of the trip will be $1,890 per person.  More information as to what this includes can be obtained from the IC web site.

Model Village Project Documentary Team

Dates: February 2011 (2 weeks)

Team Size: 4 (closed)

Description: Media and interview documentary on long-term project possibilities in India.

Who: Videographer, photo journalist, pastoral leadership.

ACTS Kenya Orphanage Project

Team Leader: Pastor David Neely and Student Minister JWes, bvbcMissions@bluevalleybaptist.org

Dates: June 2011 (2 weeks)

Team Size: 10-14 (including adults)

Description: Working with ACTS missions organization to meet needs at local orphanages in the area around Tigoni and Limuru, Kenya.  More details to follow after January 2011.

Who: BVBC students 12-18 years old and student ministry leadership.  Students 12-16 years old can only participate if one parent participates.  Students 16-18 can be a part of the team without parental participation.

Cost: $3,000 - $3,500 per person

Viola Web State Missions Offering (Kansas – Nebraska Missions) – September 2010

The Viola Webb Missions Offering benefits mission causes in the Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists and your local association. Receipts are split 50/50 between KNCSB and the association where the money was given. The offering is named for Viola Webb, who directed Kansas-Nebraska Woman's Missionary Union for 25 years.
