How Do We Make Decisions?

Our church by-laws are constructed to reflect:

...That Jesus Christ is the Head of the body, the church. The person of Jesus Christ along with the revelation of Scripture is the final authority for all matters of faith and practice. (Ephesians 4:15; Colossians 1:18; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17)
...That the Senior Pastor is the spiritual undershepherd to Christ (1 Peter 5:1-4). The Senior Pastor leads the church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and leads the church in matters of doctrinal integrity and spiritual direction. The Senior Pastor has operational authority of the church and final authority in matters related to the day-to-day operations of the church.
...That the church membership is the body of baptized believers who have been received into the membership of Blue Valley Baptist Church. The church membership shall act at duly-called business meetings by voting on matters relating to approval of the annual budget, buying and selling of real property, exclusion of unrepentant church members, reinstatement of repentant church members, election of corporate officers, the calling of the Senior Pastor, and amending of church by-laws or the church constitution as provided in these by-laws.
