Family Update #7

Here is the latest from the Ray family.

Ethan came home one week ago today from his overnight at Children's Mercy, and has done very well. There has not been any trace of blood in his stools for 6 days, and our next appointment for a blood test is tomorrow. We have one week to go on this round of medication, with a second round expected in the near future (the doctors told us to plan for C-Dificil to return). Yesterday some new dots cropped up related to hte HSP, and his left foot showed signs of arthritis. Both things quickly reminded Tiffany and I that Ethan is not in the clear yet, as symptoms can re-occur for up to a year. In spite of all of the pain and difficulty, the Lord and Ethan have taught us much, and we continue to be instructed.

Ethan has continued to have a positive attitude, and has not focused on the pain he has experienced. God has continued to draw us closer to Himself as the days have passed, giving much opportunity for praise on our part for His continual love and goodness shown to our family. One evidence of His hand has been the response we have received from you in your thoughts, concerns, and prayers. We are truly fortunate and will be forever grateful for your being with us in this time, and hope we are able to provide the same type of friendship you have offered us when trials come to you and your family. The body of Christ meeting needs, loving and caring as Christ loves and cares for us, and being true friends-all characteristics that have been evident from you. Thank-you!

This will be my last posted "family update" for a while. If Ethan begins to struggle beyond the common symptoms of HSP from this point, I will write another update to fill you in. Thank-you again for your continued prayers for our family! Blessings to you and yours today!
