Dear Preschool Parent:

We will spend this year at Blue Valley Baptist Church Diving into Community and Connection, Personal Discipleship and Service.  You will frequently hear about what that looks like at church, but what does that look like in your home?  How are we connecting with those that live right under our own roof?  Are we being intentional about being in God’s word for us personally and then teaching it to our children?  How are we serving those that we love the most? 

Parent Commitment is really about all of those things and more!  If you are teaching your child about God, making it a priority in your life to raise up your child in and for our Lord, and want to make a public commitment of that, please join us on Parent Commitment Sunday, November 02, 2008. 

We encourage you to invite family, friends, and your other children to physically stand with you during this time.  Ask these people to be accountability partners with you, helping you to stay focused on the only thing that will matter when life is over… did I teach my child about God?  Has he/she accepted Him as their personal savior?

Please ask someone to pray over your family that morning.  It could be your Sunday School Teacher, a mentor, or a Grandparent just to name a few.  They are welcome to join us as we meet with Pastor Derrick in his office on Sunday, November 02 at 10:45 to go over the order of service.  Feel free to leave your children in their classrooms during this time. 

As you complete the form, pray about what verse God has for you to claim, as you teach your child about Him.  We would like for you to share 2-3 pictures of your child, and/or family, with the name and date on the back of each picture.  These pictures will be shown in Worship during this special service.  Submit the form and pictures ASAP but no later than Sunday, October 26. Because we have asked for these things in advance, we will be unable to include last minute decisions to participate.

We have included some info that we believe will help you be more intentional about teaching your kids about God.  Thank you for realizing the importance of parenting and growing your child up for Christ.  We consider it a privilege to come alongside you in this journey!  Please call or email should you have questions.
