Sunday morning, November 18, on both of our campuses and in both service hours, we will be reflecting on the goodness of God in establishing and sustaining our local church body. Everything will happen according to our regular schedule, including your Bible Study/Sunday School classes in their regular locations. Our corporate worship that morning, however, will be “extra special” as we sing amazing songs, ordain new deacons, commission our Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes, and recognize any former staff members who may be in attendance.
In addition the BVBC Worship Ministry has commissioned Kelly Kruse, a Kansas City based artist, educator, and follower of Jesus, to paint a series of original artwork that will be featured in our Sunday morning worship services throughout the entire season. The collection will culminate with the unveiling of a final painting when we gather together for our annual Christmas Eve Classic Service. The collection is entitled True & Better, and it focuses on Jesus as the fulfillment of several Old Testament characters and events that pointed toward the coming Messiah.
In order to give you the best opportunity to engage with the art and to gain from it the joy and inspiration it was created to convey, we will be hosting True & Better: An Opening Night Gala on Friday evening, November 30.
